Summer Opportunities

Dear members and friends of Messiah:

SUMMER ushers in a host of opportunities to continue KNOWING JESUS, SERVNG JESUS, and SHARING JESUS through Messiah ministries.

• June 2nd  GRADUATION SUNDAY:  High School graduates participate in cap/gown and receive our prayers and gifts of support.    Please let us know of all college and post graduates whose names are listed in the bulletin and prayers.
• June 9-14  VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:   “Athens”  5:00 optional supper snack – 5:30-8:30 - creative and joyful learning and faith formation experiences.   Sign up right here on the Messiah website or call the church office (963-4549).
• June 16  VBS Celebration Sunday Worship – 11:15 AM – Luther Hall.
• June 16-22 CONFIRMATION CAMP at Lutheridge for rising 9th graders. Our 31st year of a week long journey of faith formation for this age group.
• June 24-28 MUSIC and DRAMA CAMP – No one does Music and Drama better than our the gifted team of ERIN PALMER and ALYSIA DODD -  Call the church office to register your children.
• June  30 M/D Camp Celebration Sunday worship – 11:15 AM – Luther Hall
• SUNDAY WORSHIP SCHEDULE CHANGES FROM  July 7 through Sept.1: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM – (10-10:45 fellowship/refreshments) 10:45 AM
• July 9 - 18 HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MISSION TRIP – Guatemala – Thanks for your gifts and prayers of support for this group as they go to offer and well as receive the love of God in this special place.
• August 1-4 JR. HIGH “Glocal” Mission Week End.   Younger teens from several Lutheran churches gather with and at Messiah for three days of “hands on” serving ministries right here in our local area.   Call Alysia to register and/or see how you can help.

Our gratitude goes out to all of you who respond to God’s Amazing Grace through your support of these and other Ministry opportunities.  I look forward to see you not just IN CHURCH  – but BEING THE CHURCH in so many ways wherever God’s Spirit is calling/sending you this summer.

Youth Ministry at Messiah

Hey Youth Families!

Here’s a few short memos on what’s happening in Youth Ministry at Messiah!!

• WELCA Sunday May 5 – We’re putting together a Female choir to sing at the 9:00 service – Teens are invited!!  If you’d like to sing with us we’ll be rehearsing 2 Tuesday nights: April 22 and April 29.  Let Alysia or Erin know asap if you’re interested!
• GLOCAL 2013 – Signups have started!!  If you’re interested let me know and I’ll get you a form!  We also are looking for adults to help chaperone and cook meals for the 30 some middle schoolers that we’ll be hosting!!
• Music and Drama Camp 2013 – June 24-28 – Erin and I are looking for teens to serve as helpers!!

VBS 2013 - Athens!

You are invited to join us for Vacation Bible School

Sunday June 9 to Thursday June 13, 5:30 to 8:15 PM

Bring your entire family to Athens and become part of Paul's dangerous journey to share the truth of Jesus.  Each day kids will become part of history and see, hear, touch, and taste what it was like to live in Athens.

The experience brings Paul's missionary adventures and God's Word alive to participants.  Open to children who are potty trained to 5th grade.

We hope to see you all in June and by all means, bring a friend.  You can also sign up for a light supper.  Forms for supper are at the church office.
